FAVOURITE PRODUCTS
Listed here are some of the products and companies which I use and love.
If I’ve been able to get you a discount, that’s also been added!
I also indicate where a link may be a referral discount so you can make a choice.
-
If you click a link with an * and buy from a company’s website, I may receive a small payment, at no extra cost to you.
This is what helps me fund the Outdoor Girl site, and keeps it free to use with no annoying pop up adverts.
There are a couple of crucial things you need to know about this:
It never impacts my content or recommendations. If it’s in, it’s something I genuinely think will be helpful
I only link to other sites that I like, know, or trust (ones that I would be happy to use myself)
There will be no extra cost to you if you buy via one of these links

OUTDOOR
EDZ Layering
EDZ are a family run independent business based in Cumbria. A few years ago, I tested some of their products (check the reviews section) and their merino base layers saw me through a couple of weeks bike packing in the Outer Hebrides.
Use the code ODG10 for a 10% discount (note it doesn’t apply to sale items).

Outside outdoor shop
Outside has been my go-to outdoor shop for over 25 years.
Based in the Peak District, they’re independent and family run, with outstanding customer service. Visiting in person is best, but if you live too far away, they have an online shop.
No discount code, but highly recommended!

BAM clothing
BAM bamboo clothing is B-corp certified and they plan to be Impact Positive by 2030. Bamboo viscose is not always as eco-friendly as it appears because of the chemical processes used, but BAM have addressed this in their FAQ’s.
You can get 20% off your first order by using this link or by clicking on ‘Been referred by a friend’ at checkout and entering my name: Jacquie Budd. I’ll get a treat too, so it’s a win-win!

OS Maps
I know some people love Harvey’s maps, but I’m a big fan of OS mapping. I have the online app, but still take a physical map and compass out - especially in a new area. It’s back up in case my phone signal or battery die.
The link below will take you to OL1 (The Dark Peak) but you can navigate from there to find the area you want.

ECO-FRIENDLY
We’re slowly updating our household products to eco-friendly alternatives and have tried out tons of products. It’s expensive when something doesn’t work. So I love sharing when it does to save others time, hassle, and expense.
Neat cleaning
Neat sell starter packs, then you simply buy the refills when running low. The refill bottles are small, so great for storing when you have limited space, and cost less than £3.00 each (at the time of writing).
They offer a referral discount giving 15% off your first order.
We use the multi-surface and bathroom cleaners. And, for a top tip, you could use an old spray bottle and just buy refills.

Tiboo toilet roll
Tiboo toilet roll is made from panda-safe FSC certified bamboo. The packaging is plastic free and they plant a tree for every order placed. We used to buy from another well-known provider but switched when their product quality dropped.
Tiboo have other products for sale, although we’ve only tried their toilet roll. We also buy on subscription to get a 10% discount.

Scence skincare
In my search for a natural deodorant, I came across this independent Cornish business making vegan, natural and plastic free products.
I love their rose moisturiser and hand cream, and often buy gifts from Scence for friends and family members.

Miniml
We tried a few laundry products from local refill stores and finally settled on Miniml Fresh Linen. Unfortunately, our refill store stopped stocking it. But happily, we found that Miniml have an online purchase and refill service. Did I mention they’re a Yorkshire company too 😉

What the * means above
If a link has an * by it, that means it’s an affiliated link and therefore helps the Outdoor Girl website stay free to use as it’s tracked to me. If you go through it, it can sometimes result in a payment to me.
You shouldn’t notice a difference, and there will be no extra cost to you. Importantly, the content I write is NEVER impacted by these links. For more details, please read my policy on affiliate links, including Amazon Affiliate links.
Please find below any duplicate links of the * links above for the sake of transparency, but note this version does not help the Outdoor Girl website:
