Black Hill, Peak District National Park
Black Hill on the Pennine Way is the third highest hill in the Peak District National Park and the highest in West Yorkshire. It’s a Marilyn and an Ethel, and once had a fearsome and notorious reputation.

This challenging walk across remote moorland had superb views, a surprise encounter with a mountain hare, and an incredible summit sunset. High on my list of favourite adventures.
